AWARENESS: My mom came back from Costco and sighed that she couldn't find toilet paper again. "What?! I'm only using the bidet going forward." She said jokingly. People have made the argument that we could save trees by reducing toilet paper usage. However, it is really going to have an impact if we change our habits back to those of ancient times - wearing leaves directly, no plastic, or future era - using electric cars, solar panels, etc.? If so, can we conclude that people are what is causing the struggles of the earths climate? No matter what, people in this world are aware of the environmental issue and are trying to take actions to protect our planet.

INNOVATION: Everybody is taking advantage of the benefits of new technologies, and nobody wants to go back to an ancient lifestyle. Therefore, we should seek solutions through technology advancement. Digitalizing can dramatically reduce our carbon footprint. It is estimated that Americans can save half a million trees per year for every 5 percent of households that switch to paperless utility bills and payments. LED bulbs is another example where new technology can help. LED bulbs contribute 90% less CO2 compared to their incandescent counterparts due to their low energy consumption. And hopefully, successful nuclear fusion research and development will soon be able to provide us with clean energy that is abundant, safe and reliable without any fossil fuel usage.
