The best fruits and vegetables I have ever had were ones picked from my own backyard. They are truly organic and naturally grown. Organic foods are not only healthier and tastier but beneficial to the environment as well. Synthetic chemicals commonly used in farming now can be detrimental to the environment in situations such as runoff where these chemicals are washed down into local sources of water. However, while there are many benefits in organic farming, the yields for vegetable crops are significantly lower.
"In an increasingly hot and crowded world, the only sustainable way to live is to get more out of less. Every environmentalist would agree." - from Bryan Walsh "Whole Food Blues"
