Vermont Had Flood Dec 2023

News that there was heavy rain and snowmelt in the state right before Christmas was concerning. Mount Snow, VT, where we visited and skied every Christmas in the past eight years. The mountains were always covered with white snow in the past. Looking at the icicles hanging down from the roof was a peaceful sight.

We were so lucky being able to enjoy the three-day family tradition of skiing during the new year. The temperature dropped to 30s on Dec. 30. The snow on the slopes had all sorts of textures which made it hard to predict how the run was going to be. My shins hurt a lot due to the trail condition, and they were all bruised the next day. My friends and I realized that we had to rely more on artificial snow due to global warming.
